Drug Discovery ProcessDuring drug discovery, it is important to understand a new chemical entity’s lipophilicity. LogP and LogD measurements help build a new drug’s ADMET profile (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion and Toxicity). LogP is the octanol-water partition coefficient and indicates whether a neutral molecule prefers an aqueous or organic phase. LogD is a combination of pKa and LogP and produces an apparent partition coefficient for any pH value. CANTEST can determine LogP or LogD at customer specified pH, using the shaker-flask method.
