LC-MS/MS Method for the Determination of Vitamin D3 in human plasma published in Pharmaceutical TechnologyMedia release - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 6, 2009 Burnaby, British Columbia – CANTEST Ltd., an analytical laboratory and Contract Research Organization, announced that the European edition of Pharmaceutical Technology has published an article about the determination of vitamin D levels in human plasma, written by CANTEST scientists. The article, entitled “LC–MS/MS method for the determination of Vitamin D3 in human plasma”, was co-authored by Xuejun Peng, Rong Yi, Amara Pinnawala, Sarah Ostonal, Eliot Chung, Grace van der Gugten, Bernard Nutley and David Gray. Their research resulted in the development of a reliable and accurate method to monitor vitamin D3 levels in the human body when a Vitamin D drug or supplement is taken. The Canadian Cancer Society is recommending a specific amount of Vitamin D supplementation for Canadians, based on the growing evidence about the link between Vitamin D and reducing risk for colorectal, breast and prostate cancers.
