CANTEST celebrates inaugral International Accreditation Day

BURNABY, BC - CANTEST is pleased to announce its support of the inaugural International Accreditation Day on June 9, 2008, as designated by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).

 Accreditation Day recognizes the impact of accreditation on marketplace activity. Purchasing decisions are influenced by the trust that exists between purchasers and suppliers. As an independent and authoritative attestation of confidence, impartiality and integrity, accreditation adds value and credibility to laboratory assessment services and the corresponding results. Accreditation also enhances international business by establishing trust between countries and eliminating the need for multiple assessments.

Endorsed by both IAF and ILAC, International Accreditation Day celebrates the strong co-operations that have developed between IAF, ILAC and international organizations such as ISO, IEC, UNIDO, BIPM and WADA. Multilateral agreements now exist between many economies and a structure has been created to support the development of accreditation and assessment in developing economies.

• Enhanced Water Quality Assurance- Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine-UBC/Microbiology scope of testing
• Health Canada (Good Manufacturing Practices)- Establishment licence for drug testing
