CANTEST’s Chairman of the Board honoured as Business Person of the Year at Burnaby Business Excellence Awards

Burnaby, British Columbia – November 14, 2007. Dr. Don Rix, CANTEST’s Chairman of the Board, has been honoured as the recipient of the Business Person of the Year Award at the Burnaby Business Excellence Awards.

“As a strong supporter of the Burnaby business community, I am extremely honoured to receive this award”, says Dr. Rix. “For many years, I’ve been fortunate to work with great teams both at CANTEST as well as LifeLabs (formerly MDS Metro Laboratory Services), who share in this success.”

The Business Person of the Year award recognizes a local businessperson who, through their personal vision, expertise, dedication and performance, is an outstanding role model for business development and excellence.

Dr. Rix is a past recipient of several noteworthy honours including a Honourary Doctor of Technology from BCIT and Honourary Doctor of Sciences degrees from the University of Western Ontario, BCIT and SFU. He is a recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal and was appointed as a Member of the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem by the Knights Hospitaller. Earlier this year, Dr. Rix was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada.
