CANTEST BioPharma Services acquires two API 5000™ LC-MS/MS systems

Burnaby, British Columbia. CANTEST Ltd. is pleased to announce the acquisition, installation and validation of two API 5000 LC-MS/MS™ systems, worth together over $1.5 million. The state-of-the-art machines, the first installation of their kind in Western Canada, support pharmaceutical development from drug discovery through clinical trials and will be used within the company’s BioPharma Services division at the CANTEST Life Sciences Centre near Vancouver, British Columbia. Both instruments are ready for bioanalytical and method development projects for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

“We are excited about the potential applications of the API 5000 LC-MS/MS’ features to our clients’ product development programs”, says CANTEST BioPharma Services’ Director of Laboratory Operations, Dr. Adrien Musuku. “Potential applications include highly sensitive LC-MS/MS assays for the lowest strength of cabergoline for a Bioequivalence (BE) study or for an inhaled corticosteroid such as fluticasone and mometasone, as well as any other assay requiring a limit of quantitation at the sub pg/mL level.”

CANTEST BioPharma Services selected the API 5000 LC-MS/MS™ amongst other systems in the marketplace after an extensive evaluation and was ultimately convinced by features such as:
