Growth from Within

Employees who show an interest in personal growth are given the training, encouragement and support they need to help them take on increased responsibilities with the company. CANTEST places a high value on human resources at all levels and, wherever possible, will promote from within rather than fill available positions from outside the company.

Performance Based Incentive Programs

Each year, CANTEST puts aside a portion of its earnings to recognize staff effort. The Performance Based Incentive Program allows employees to set goals for the coming year and then evaluate their performance in conjunction with their supervisors and peers. This program helps provide guidance and feedback that can then be used to identify future training opportunities and paths for career advancement. 

Work and Learn

CANTEST encourages its employees to be "life-long learners." Staff members have access to a wide variety of opportunities including seminars, technical courses and internal training programs. In addition, the company assists employees in the pursuit of advanced university or community college degrees relating to company work through a formal tuition reimbursement policy. Because of its diversity, CANTEST can offer staff the ability to learn new skills through interdepartmental cross training. These cross-training programs will expose you to new skills, technology, people and expertise. This focus on life-long learning benefits both the company and the individual.

Physical Health

People that keep physically fit have higher energy levels and live happier, healthier lives. When designing the Burnaby Life Sciences Centre, CANTEST included fitness facilities complete with free weights, gym-quality fitness equipment, changing rooms, showers and lockers. The fitness area is open to all employees, seven days a week. Many CANTEST employees are also involved in team sports. Some of the company-sponsored teams competing in casual leagues include floor hockey, softball and “ultimate”.

Mental Health

CANTEST employees have access to discreet, company sponsored counseling resources to assist with life's challenges.
